The Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement Program (RAISE CL) conducted a consultation meeting with the Department of Science and Technology Region III (DOST-Central Luzon) Director, Dr. Julius Caesar V. Sicat, on January 30 at the DOST-III Conference Room, Diosdado Macapagal Government Center, Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Dr. Pablo J. Rafael Jr., program leader of RAISE CL and head of the CLSU-Agriculture and Food Technology Business Incubator (CLSU-AFTBI), introduced the programโs framework, key activities and strategies, regional technology offerings, priority commodities, and banner technologies. He was joined by the project leaders from the five key project components of the different Consortium Member Institutions (CMIs) such as the Regional Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management in Central Luzon, the Regional Agri-business Hub (ABH) in Central Luzon, the Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (ATBI) in Central Luzon, the Establishment of the Regional Knowledge Management Hub in Central Luzon, and the National Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation (ATBI) Networking and Capacity Building.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sicat emphasized the steadfast support of DOST III in offering its key services, particularly in technology transfer and commercialization, laboratory and field testing, licensing, resource optimization, and regulatory compliance. He reiterated DOST IIIโs commitment to service offerings, stating, โI am very happy to see the concept of the RAISE Program, and we will surely accommodate each project as much as we can.โ
The activity was attended by the respective project leaders and staff, including Dr. Emelie C. Ablaza, Prof. Walter L. Pacunana, Atty. Jerry C. Serapion, Dr. Eduardo S. Tinao, Mr. Xyran Alejandro (representing Dr. Eufrocina P. Atabay), Mr. Nestor T. Asuncion, Mr. Danilo E. Briones (representing Ms. Princess M. Mercado), Mr. Emmanuel Jayson T. Boac (representing Ms. Maribel C. Ramales), Dr. Edna D. Punzalan, Engr. Joselito D. Tucit, Dr. Alking B. Gorospe, Ms. Josephine J. Muรฑoz, Mr. Liberato Saquing (representing Dr. Ericson N. Dela Cruz), Ms. Lizette B. Tapang, Prof. Maria Adrielle S. Estigoy, and Mr. Miguel P. Carlos, Jr.
Additionally, they acknowledged the guidance and services offered by the agency, including consultation, training, funding, and testing services, which are crucial to the successful implementation of the project interventions.

The meeting aimed to identify innovation needs and opportunities, as well as to strengthen the capacity building and technical support of RAISE CL and DOST-III. This will help design future interventions that align with the AANR sector and the socio-economic needs of the community.
