CLSU Researchers win at national competition

CLSU researchers bagged two awards at the 2017 National Symposium on Agriculture, Aquatic Resources Research and Development (NSAARRD) held at the PCAARRD- headquaters, Los Banos Laguna on June 27, 2017. The NSAARRD award had two categories: Research and Development. For Research Category, “Innovative Feed Supplements and Feeding Schemes for Increase Goat Productivity” by Dr. Edgar A. Orden, Emilio M. Cruz, Lolito C. Bestil and Neal A. Del Rosario, garnered the third place for best paper in Research Category. For Development Category, the program titled “Promotion of Matured Feed Products and Feeeding Schemes Towards Enterprises Development” by Dr.Maria Excelsis M. Orden, Edgar A. Oreden, Matilde Milicent S. Recto and Jackielou A. Gallarde, won the second prize. The winners of the competition received cash prizes and plaques of recognition during the program of 2017 National Science and Technology Week in celebration of DOST-PCAARRD 6th founding anniversary. NSAARRD is an annual competition, which showcases the outstanding contribution of individuals and institutions for improving the agriculture, aquatic and natural resources sectors through research and development.

A total of 344 units of Farm were granted (zero equity) to 120 Farmers Organization at Department of Agriculture-ROS, Paraiso, Tarlac, Last June 21, 2017. These farm machineries were funded by the Department of Agriculture-Regional Office. It was claimed as “The Biggest”, so far, in the history of the province as stated by Governor Susan A. Yap.
