Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) in partnership with Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Researches conducted a three-day planning workshop and technology forum for Aerobic Rice Technology (ART) held on May 31-June 2, 2017 at Tarlac City.
The first two days featured the planning-workshop led by Dr. Josie A. Valdez, project leader, wherein the significant results and new development on ART as a package of technology (POT) were presented to the different project collaborators, namely: Dr. Nenita Dela Cruz from CLSU, Engr. Jonathan Lacayanga from BPSU-Abucay Campus, and Dr. Mercedita Valdez from TAU.
Dr. Valdez also shared during the meeting his plan on conceptualizing a radio program for the technology in order to better disseminate the technology to a wider scope of clientele.
Meanwhile, a technology forum was held on the last day showcasing the ART to its intended users, particularly the farmers, through presentation of research outputs, lecture-discussions, farmer-adopters’ testimonies and an open forum afterwards.
The program ended with a closing remarks delivered by Dr. Josefina C. Managuit, Vice President, RET.
